Pure Power Mouthguard

The Pure Power Mouthguard, or PPM, is a high performance sports accessory invented and designed by neuromuscular dentist Dr. Anil Makkar.  Each Makkar PPM™ is custom built and fitted for an individual athlete/user. The PPM works by naturally aligning the users jaw which has been shown to enhance oxygen flow, endurance, power, balance, range of motion and flexibility during training and competition.

The idea behind the PPM comes from the principles of Neuromuscular Dentistry, which seeks to properly align the jaw and produce an optimum bite which in turn places the muscles of the face, jaw and neck in their most efficient state.  This favorable muscle position, which is different for each person, has been shown to improve posture, range of motion, flexibility, balance, and strength.

Users ranging from weekend warriors to professional athletes have reported increased endurance and faster recovery from the PPM which has led to immediate and substantial improvements in performance.

The PPM is available in several versions of two basic models - an upper protective guard, used primarily in contact sports, and a lower mouthguard designed for non-contact sports and training. Both are designed to deliver immediate results.

How do I get a PPM?  You can be fitted for a PPM in two easy appointments. The first step is to book a free consultation with a neuromuscular dentist such as Dr. Wagner to see if you are a candidate. Once it is determined that you are a good PPM candidate, you will be booked for a second visit at which time your dentist will use a TENS unit to relax your jaw, determine your optimal jaw position and take an impression of your teeth.  Your PPM can then be prepared in approximately two weeks.
